Woodruff

Woodruff , noun

[Anglo-Saxon wudurofe. See Wood, n., and compare Ruff a plaited collar.]

(Botany) A little European herb (Asperula odorata) having a pleasant taste. It is sometimes used for flavoring wine. See Illust. of Whorl.
