Quercitin (kwẽr"si*tin) , noun
(Chemistry) A yellow crystalline substance, occurring quite widely distributed in the vegetable kingdom, as in apple-tree bark, horse-chestnut leaves, etc., but originally obtained by the decomposition of quercitrin. Called also meletin.
