[Old French porcelaine, pourcelaine (compare Italian porcellana), corrupted from Latin porcilaca for portulaca.]

(Botany) An annual plant (Portulaca oleracea), with fleshy, succulent, obovate leaves, sometimes used as a pot herb and for salads, garnishing, and pickling.
