Matelote
Matelote (mat"e*lōt) , noun
[French matelote, from matelot a sailor; properly, a dish such as a sailors prepare.]
1.
A stew, commonly of fish, flavored with wine, and served with a wine sauce containing onions, mushrooms, etc.
2.
An old dance of sailors, in double time, and somewhat like a hornpipe.
