[New Latin, from Greek {not transcribed} offspring + {not transcribed} box.]

(Zoology) A capsule developed on certain hydroids (Thecaphora), inclosing the blastostyle upon which the medusoid buds or gonophores are developed; -- called also gonangium, and teleophore. See Hydroidea, and Illust. of Campanularian.
