Edentata

Edentata , proper noun, plural

[New Latin, neut. pl. from Latin edentatus, past participle of edentare to render toothless; e out + dens, dentis, tooth.]

(Zoology) An order of mammals including the armadillos, sloths, and anteaters; -- called also Bruta. The incisor teeth are rarely developed, and in some groups all the teeth are lacking.
