[New Latin, from Greek de`ros skin + trh^ma, trh^mata, hole.]

(Zoology) The tribe of aquatic Amphibia which includes Amphiuma, Menopoma, etc. They have permanent gill openings, but no external gills; -- called also Cryptobranchiata.
