[Latin dentatus, from dens, dentis, tooth.]

(Botany) Toothed; especially, with the teeth projecting straight out, not pointed either forward or backward; as, a dentate leaf.
2.
(Zoology) Having teeth or toothlike points. See Illust. of Antenna.
