Chief hare
(Zoology) A small rodent (Lagamys princeps) inhabiting the summits of the Rocky Mountains; -- also called crying hare, calling hare, cony, American pika, and little chief hare.
It is not a true hare or rabbit, but belongs to the curious family Lagomyida.
