Chabasite

Chabasite (kab"ȧ*sīt) , noun

[Greek chabazi`os one of twenty species of stones mentioned in the poem Peri` li`qwn, ascribed to Orpheus.]

(Mineralogy) A mineral occurring in glassy rhombohedral crystals, varying in color from white to yellow or red. It is essentially a hydrous silicate of alumina and lime. Called also chabasie.
