(Botany) A euphorbiaceous West Indian shrub (Croton Eleutheria); also, its aromatic bark.

It is used as a gentle tonic, and sometimes, for the sake of its fragrance, mixed with smoking tobacco, when it is said to occasion vertigo and intoxication.
