Caracal

Caracal (kar"ȧ*kal) , noun

[French caracal, from Turk qarahqootaq; qarah black + qootaq ear.]

(Zoology) A lynx (Felis caracal syn. Lynx caracal). It is a native of Africa and Asia. Its ears are black externally, and tipped with long black hairs.
